Rally Photo Closes

The incident on this years Granite City Rally was fortunately not as bad as it could have been. The point is that it could have been a disaster. Recent years have seen a real increase in the number of serious accidents in Scottish Rallying and we have had concerns about safety for some time. Now, we think that, unless someone does something significant, we will have our own Sintra incident.

After some serious thought, and giving time for objective reflection, we have decided that the sport has become too dangerous. Yes, risk is an inherent part of this tremendous sport, but we don't believe that the risk is being properly managed.

We can't see things improving significantly and it is with sincere regret that we have decided that RALLY-PHOTO.COM will cease its operation in domestic rallying with immediate effect.

We have had a tremendous 8 year run, and have been proud to support the sport as official photographers across all levels - from the Ecosse Challenge, through the Scottish Rally Championship right up to the IRC Rally of Scotland.

Sincere thanks to all who have supported us - we hope that our fears do not become reality and that the sport has a fruitful and safe future. Unfortunately, it will be a future without ourselves.

We will continue to cover a number of international events - such as this year's Acropolis Rally. And our collection of about 150,000 photos will remain online for the foreseeable future.
